To provide a method for producing a vegetable solid which contains a vegetable raw material and rice bran as a main raw material to be easy of transportation and storage.
The vegetable raw material such as a rice straw and rice hull, as well as the rice bran are used as main raw materials, both materials are so blended as to provide a ratio of the vegetable raw material to the rice bran of 50-93 wt.% to 7-50 wt.%, and are mixed. The resultant mixture is ground and then compressed so solidified as to produce the vegetable solid. The resultant vegetable solid is finished so that the solid has a very hard and smooth surface, and the solid does not break or does not deteriorate even if stored for long periods.
