To provide the manufacturing method of a vehicular colored light-transmittable cover, which does not necessitate the conventional large-sized facilities, in which no flying of paints develops, and, in addition, an efficient manufacturing work can be realized, further no shade matching is necessary and the strong bonding of a light-transmittable resin film with the exterior surface of a cover main body with no peeling-off of the film and consequently the weatherability and impact resistance of the cover main body can be improved.
In order to manufacture this vehicular colored light-transmittable cover, first of all, a moldable light-transmittable resin film is cut to a predetermined size. Next, the predetermined coloring is applied by printing to the front side or rear side of the light-transmittable resin film. Next, the light-transmittable resin film is shaped to a three-dimensional shape so as to match to the external shape of the main body of a vehicular colored light-transmittable cover. Next, under the state that the light-transmittable resin film 1 shaped to the three-dimensional shape is inserted in the cavity 4 of an insert molding die 3, a molten resin is poured in the die 3 so as to mold the main body 2 of the vehicular colored light-transmittable cover and simultaneously laminatingly integrating the light-transmittable resin film 1 to the exterior surface of the main body 2 of the vehicular colored light-transmittable cover by the welding action of the molten resin.
