To provide a woven fabric which is woven using a side-emitting optical fiber and a synthetic resin filament etc., and a method for manufacturing a skin material using the woven fabric.SOLUTION: In a skin material in which one of a warp yarn and a weft yarn is a first constituent yarn and the other is a second constituent yarn, a portion of fibers forming the first constituent yarn are a side-emitting optical fiber 3 which is interwoven therein in parallel. The skin material comprises a single woven part 11 (11a, 11b and 12) and a plurality of bag-woven parts 2. The side-emitting optical fiber is not interwoven into the woven fabrics forming the bag-woven parts. In addition, one bag-woven part forms a pair with the other bag-woven part located oppositely to the one bag-woven part in the direction in which the first constituent yarn is interwoven. A plurality of pairs of the bag-woven parts are arranged in the direction in which a second constituent yarn is interwoven. Further, the single woven part 11 is interposed between the one bag-woven part and the other bag-woven part, and the single woven part 11b is interposed between the pairs of the bag-woven parts adjacent to each other in the direction in which the second constituent yarn is interwoven. All of the end edges of the woven fabrics in the direction in which the first constituent yarn is interwoven and in the direction in which the second constituent yarn is interwoven, are formed by the single woven parts 11a and 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
