Title:
MANUFACTURING OF SINTERED COMPACT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3547464
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make removable a binder without using carrier gas by removing it under a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure in a process to sinter a green body comprising ceramics, the binder or the like after removing the binder by treating with gaseous acid.
CONSTITUTION: Powder of ceramics (e.g. Al2O3, Y2O3, SiO2, Si3N, SiC or the like) or metal (e.g. Fe, Ni, Cr, Co or the like) and a binder (polyoxymethylene) are mixed. The mixture is compacted to form a green compact. Subsequently the green compact is treated with an acid (e.g. HNO3, HCl, carboxylic acid, acetic acid or the like) under reduced pressure to decompose and remove the binder. At this stage the decomposition of the binder and the subsequent sintering is carried out in the same apparatus.
