Abstract:
To provide a marine internal combustion engine which is provided with an exhaust turbine type supercharger and achieves both EGR operation and normal operation.SOLUTION: An engine 1 as a marine internal combustion engine comprises: a main engine 10; an exhaust turbine type supercharger 4 in which a compressor 41 is driven by an exhaust gas supplied to a turbine 42; an EGR passage 81 which connects a portion in an exhaust passage 31 on a downstream side of the turbine 42 and a portion in an intake passage 21 on an upstream side of the compressor 41; an EGR valve 82 which opens and closes the EGR passage 81; an exhaust adjustment system 9 which adjusts a flow rate of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine 42; and a controller 100 which controls the exhaust adjustment system 9 on the basis of an opening degree of the EGR valve 82. When the EGR valve 82 is in a valve open state, the controller 100 increases the flow rate of the exhaust gas supplied to the turbine 42 as compared with the case where the EGR valve 82 is in a valve close state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
