Abstract:
The mechanical part comprises a stationary table (10) and a bracket (12, 14) carrying a cross-slide (16, 22) which carries the engraving tool (28). The tool is positioned and actuated by a microprocessor whose permanent memory contains execution instructions. The operator makes use of a keyboard and a control screen for specifying the signs to be engraved and the corresponding instructions are loaded into a working memory which controls the positioning and actuation mechanisms of the tool. The flexibility of the device is in the ease of programming it.
