Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the quality of characters of a marking device by setting a working start point and a working end point between a start point and an end point so that only turning back is required at the start and end points, eliminating thereby traces of punching.
CONSTITUTION: When an air pen is pressed against a workpiece and moved, while the pen is being vibrated, to form a line or a character comprising a series of points, a working start point 3A is set between a start point 3B and an end point 3C of the workpiece and the air pen is lowered to start vibrating the air pen at the point 3A and the pen is moved while working is being continued and then the pen is turned back at the point 3B to continue the working. A working end point 3D is set between the point 3B and the point 3C, and at the point 3C the vibration of the pen only is terminated to turn back the pen and the pen is raised at the point 3D. Consequently, punching is not repeated on one point and hence deep traces of punching are not formed at the points 3B, 3C.
