To obtain a composition for coating the eyelashes for bringing a film giving a good curl of the eyelashes after its application.

The mascara composition contains a polymer capable of adhering with a keratinous substance, a prescribed main particles being a solid at 25°C, a non-volatile fraction optionally containing additional solid particles different from the main solid particles and at least one volatile solvent. The main solid particles and the optionally additional solid particles present in the composition by such amounts that the volume fraction of the main solid particles and the suitable additional solid particles is ≥1% and <50% total volume of the non-volatile fraction, and further optionally the volume fraction of the main solid particles is ≥50% total volume of the main and additional solid particles.
