Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a precipitated silicic acid having suitable properties as a reinforcing filler for a silicone rubber.

CONSTITUTION: The title silicic acid has a pH in a 4% aq. suspension of 5.5-7.0, an acidity (obtd. by titrating with n-butylamine using p-dimethylaminobenzene as an indicator) of 10-40mmol/kg, and a BET specific surface area (m2/g) expressed by the equation: y=3x+A wherein y is the specific surface area; x is the acidity; and A is 135±35.
