PURPOSE: To make order of billet casting in continuous casting and order of rolling in a rolling stage concident by setting a rolling schedule from a condition for receiving an order and a condition for rolling, and casting the billet at the varying width of a casting mold or controlling the casting speed in continuous casting to avoid the change in said schedule.
CONSTITUTION: A rolling schedule is beforehand set from a condition for receiving an order and a condition for rolling. A billet is cast at the varying width of a casting mold or the casting speed is controlled in addition to the casting at the varying width of the casting mold in continuous casting to avoid a change in the rolling schedule whereby order of billet casting in the continuous casting and order of rolling in a rolling stage are made coincident. Productivity is thus improved and an energy loss is decreased.
