PURPOSE: To obtain a material for a metallic mold for glass molding having high drawability, a long life in continuous use, and superior resistance to oxidation and corrosion by adding specified amounts of C, Si and W to Ni as a base.

CONSTITUTION: A material for a metallic mold for glass molding is obtd. by adding, by weight, 0.03W0.3% C, 0.05W1.2% Si and 3W18% W to Ni as a base. 0.06W0.18% C, 0.2W0.6% Si and 5W13% W, 0.03W0.3% C, 0.05W1.2% Si and 3W 15% Mo, 0.06W0.18% C, 0.2W0.6% Si and 5W10% Mo, 0.03W0.3% C, 0.05W1.2% Si, 3W18% W and 3W15% Mo, or 0.06W0.18% C, 0.2W0.6% Si, 3W6% W and 3W 5% Mo may be added.
