PURPOSE: To obtain a material for the titled flat spring reducing troubles of the head of a wire dot printer by providing a specified composition consisting of Cr, C, Si, Mn, Mo and Fe so as to reduce the heat deterioration of the joint between an armature and the flat spring and to prolong the fatigue life of the joint.
CONSTITUTION: In the head of a charge type wire dot printer, an armature 7 having an attached printing wire 8 is welded to the free end of a flat spring 6 having one end fixed on a permanent magnet 3 with a spacer 5 in-between, and the spring 6 inclined by the magnet 3 is made horizontal by demagnetizing a magnetic field from the magnet 3 by the excitation of a magnet coil 4 to project the printing wire 8 from a guide frame 10. The flat spring 6 is made of a material consisting of, by weight, 13W14% Cr, 0.37W0.43% C, 0.25W0.5% Si, 0.3W0.5% Mn, 1.3W1.35% Mn and the balance Fe.
