Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix converter, a controller for the matrix converter, and a control method for the matrix converter capable of improving accuracy of power conversion.SOLUTION: A matrix converter according to an embodiment comprises a selection unit and a commutation control unit. The selection unit selects one commutation pattern from a plurality of types of commutation patterns, on the basis of at least any one of a state of phase voltage of an AC power supply and a state of phase current of a load. The commutation control unit performs commutation control of switching a state of connection with the AC power supply and the load, by controlling the bidirectional switch of a power conversion unit by using the commutation pattern selected by the selection unit. A total value of values obtained by weighting characteristic values of the plurality of types of commutation patterns on the basis of ratios of the selection unit selecting the commutation patterns is equal to or smaller than a characteristic value of one commutation pattern to be a comparison target.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
