To provide a matte antimicrobial thermoplastic resin composition excellent in matteness and antimicrobial, mechanical, and heat aging properties in a good balance by compounding a rubber-modified styrene resin, a vinyl copolymer, a carboxylated copolymer, an amine compound, and an inorganic antimicrobial agent.
This composition is prepared by incorporating 0.01-2.0 pts.wt. antimicrobial agent prepared by causing a carrier to carry a metal ion selected from among ions of silver, copper, and zinc into 100 pts.wt. composition which comprises 1-60 pts.wt. rubber-modified thermoplastic resin formed by copolymerizing at least two monomers selected from among an aromatic vinyl monomer (B), a vinyl cyanide monomer (C), and a vinyl monomer (D) other than an unsaturated carboxylic acid (E) in the presence of a rubbery polymer (A), 10-90 pts.wt. vinyl copolymer prepared by copolymerizing at least two monomers selected from among monomers B, C, and D, 1-15 pts.wt. carboxylated copolymer prepared by copolymerizing monomers B, C, and E, 0.01-10 pts.wt. compound of formula I [wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each H or 1-26C (hydroxy)alkyl or (hydroxy)alkenyl; and Y is N or a group of formula II], and 0-30 pts.wt. rubbery agglomerate.
