Abstract:

To reduce the occurrence of meandering on a coiling reel and to stably produce a thin metal strip by respectively regulating dynamic friction forces generating between the thin metal strip and a belt of a transferring conveyer.

A molten metal 17 is jetted on the external circumference face of a cooling roll 3 rotating at a high speed, cooled rapidly and solidified to produce the thin metal strip 15, then the thin metal strip 15 is stripped from the cooling roll 3, sucked and transferred by plural conveyers to a coiling device and wound into a coil shape. At this time, two conveyers among plural conveyers are used for individually driving transferring conveyers, and the longitudinal direction center axes of an upstream side transferring conveyer and a downstream side transferring conveyer are arranged to be mutually reverse with the transferring line and inclined in the horizontal plane. The meandering amount detected by edge sensors 13, 14 is inputted to a suction controller through the meandering detecting device, the suction forces inside vacuum suction boxes 8-1, 8-2 attached to transferring vacuum suction type conveyers 7-1, 7-2 are changed into mutually different values by a blower and the dynamic friction force is regulated and the correcting force is applied.
