Abstract:
To provide a compact measurement apparatus that enables current measurement with high accuracy and has simple structure.SOLUTION: The measurement apparatus according to an embodiment comprises a light source, a first optical fiber, a polarizer, a Faraday element, an analyzer, a second optical fiber and a detector. The first optical fiber is connected at one end to the light source and emits light of the light source from the other end. The polarizer faces the other end of the first optical fiber, and converts light source light to linearly polarized light. The Faraday element optically rotates linearly polarized light in accordance with the intensity of a magnetic field. The analyzer converts the optically rotated linearly polarized light into light of the intensity that corresponds to the angle of rotation. The second optical fiber has its one end facing the analyzer and emits the light converted by the analyzer from the other end. The detector faces the other end of the second optical fiber and detects the converted light. The distance between the Faraday element and the second optical fiber is larger than the width of the analyzer in a direction in which the Faraday element and the second optical fiber are separate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
