PURPOSE: To measure quickly and accurately moisture of various samples, by utilizing a memory card stored a prescribed heating time and heating temperature information corresponding to the sample in a heating and drying type moisture measuring apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: Weight of a sample is weighed by a balance 20 and data are fetched in an MPU 26 from an interface 61. A memory card corresponding to the sample is received to an input part 32 and set data of heating time and heating temperature are fetched in the MPU 62 through an input-output control part 33. Thus, a heating controlling circuit 12 is operated and a heater 10 is controlled. The weight of the sample on the way of heating is measured by the balance 20 and moisture content is obtained in a short time by finding an asymptotic line of a moisture drying curve. Optimum heating control for a new object sample to be measured is made possible by applying a memory card system in such a manner.
