Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve accuracy of hydrometry based on ultrasonic Doppler principle.
CONSTITUTION: At least three sound converters 5, 6, 7 are distributed around a measuring tube 1 along or opposite to flow direction 2. The three sound converters 5, 6, 7 are formed to be switched to one transmitter tube and two receivers or two transmitter and one receiver. Two mixers 16, 17 are inserted between the one transmitter and the two receivers or the two transmitters and one receiver generate a differential signal from main frequency and receiving frequency. A third mixer 18 generates a signal from the differential signal from the first mixer 16 and the differential signal from the second mixer 17. The sound converters 5, 6, 7 are preferably, piezoelectric oscillator wafer, which are held on plate outer sides 8, 9, 10 of the measuring tube 1.
