Title:
MEASURING SYSTEM FOR MATHEMATICALLY REPRESENTED THREE-DIMENSIONAL SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0626825
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To facilitate the measurement by framing a surface to be measured with a line of high contrast being drawn thereat, reading out the line by means of a TV camera and further processing the line, thereby making the camera movable freely in the measuring space.

CONSTITUTION: The measuring system comprises a measuring unit 5 defining a three-dimensional space for measuring a three-dimensional surface, a TV camera 10 supported displaceably and rotatably by the measuring unit 5 and producing the image of a surface to be measured, an image processor 16 and a stereo processor 17. The image processor 16 searches a line drawn on the surface to be measured at high contrast from two different images obtained from the TV camera 10. Subsequently, the stereo processor 17 calculates the mutual relationship of points in two images, the three-dimensional coordinates of these points and equations of the curve and the surface passing these points.
