Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the size and to increase the amplification factor of a mechanical amplifying mechanism by transmitting the elongating and contracting operations of an electrostrictive or piezoelectric element and supporting a beam as displacement amplifying means by two lever arms for amplifying. CONSTITUTION:The displacements of piezoelectric elements are added by applying a voltage to the piezoelectric elements 11, the displacement 18 of the piezoelectric element is transmitted through displacement transmitting means 13 to arm levers 14, and the displacement is increased at the end of the lever arm 14. A displacement is applied axially to both ends of a beam 16 which is interposed and supported between the arms 14, the beam 16 is deformed perpendicularly to the displacement provided at both ends, and the maximum displacement 19 occurs at the center of the beam 16. Accordingly, the beam 16 forwardly moves the typing stylus 15 at the drive time to print it.
