PURPOSE: To preserve much paper money left untaken.

CONSTITUTION: A vertically movable elevator 7 on which paper money which is inserted from an upper reception hole 3 and is left untaken is mounted in a preservation cassette 1 is so provided that it can be stopped in a prescribed position under the reception hole 3. A detaining mechanism 6 which detains and releases a partitioning plate 9 in the lowest layer out of piled-up partitioning plates 9 is provided above the reception hole 3 so that free drop of the partitioning plate 9 is allowed and the partitioning plate 9 just under this partitioning plate 9 of the lowest layer is detained at the time of releasing this partitioning plate 9. A projecting piece supporting stopper 5 of the partitioning plate 9 of the highest layer out of partitioning plates 9 which are piled up in the upper part of the preservation cassette 1 and have projecting pieces 10 in one side edges and a supporting part 6 of the other side edges are provided above the reception hole 3, and projecting pieces 10 are provided in positions different by piled-up partitioning plates 9 so that the projecting piece 10 of each partitioning plate is shifted from that of the just lower partitioning plate 9 in the lengthwise direction of the member 6 by a prescribed pitch, and the stopper 5 is freely moved in the shift direction of projecting pieces 10 so that it can be stopped in positions facing the projecting piece 10.
