Abstract:
To provide a medium discharge device and a printing system capable of enhancing discharge efficiency of a medium and easily managing a plurality of kinds of discharged media.SOLUTION: A medium discharge device 1 comprises a plurality of medium loading units (for example, a first medium-loading unit 10 and a second medium-loading unit 20), a discharge path switching unit 34 for switching a discharge path of a medium M to any of the plurality of medium loading units, and a control unit 51 for controlling the plurality of medium loading units and the discharge path switching unit 34. When a medium M different in kind from a medium M loaded on one of the plurality of medium loading units is discharged, the control unit 51 causes the discharge path switching unit 34 to switch the discharge path to another medium loading unit, and causes movable end fences 12 and 22 and offset guides 13 and 23 of the medium loading unit on which the medium M is loaded to perform an offset operation while the medium M is loaded on the another medium loading unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
