To provide a device used in a system which ejects medications in small doses in a stable and quick manner and is inexpensive in production and maintenance.
The ejection mechanism includes a long housing for storing medication packages of uniform configuration. An ejection member moves between two positions, a first rest position and a second ejection position. An actuator moves the ejection member between the above-mentioned two positions. A clamping member forming a part of a wall of the housing near the lower end thereof is spring biased so as to clamp the medication packages in place, excluding the lowermost package, during the time in which the lowermost package begins to be ejected from the housing assembly. A cam member portion of the clamping member interacts physically with the eject member so that the clamping member is allowed to move inwardly and clamp the packages above the lowermost package while the eject member moves from the rest position to its ejection position. When the eject member is in its rest position, the clamping member is held away from the packages, permitting the packages to move downwardly in the housing assembly.
