Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a neutral metalloendopeptidase(NMEP) inhibitor for enhancing hypotension by atrial natriuretic factor(ANF), by including NMEP.
SOLUTION: This composition contains a compound of the formula (Y is S or NH; X is H, acetyl, etc.; R1 is phenyl; R2 is H, OH, CH2OH, NH2, an alkyl, etc.; R3 is OH, an alkoxy or NH2; (m) and (n) are each 0 or 1) or its acid addition salt as an active ingredient. An NMEP inhibitor can lower symptoms such as blood pressure of salt-dependent hypertensive symptom having relatively no effects by an angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitor. The inhibitor can also be administered in combination of oral NMEP inhibitor/oral ACE inhibitor, oral NMEP inhibitor/parenteral atrial peptide, parenteral NMEP inhibitor/oral ACE inhibitor, parental NMEP inhibitor/parenteral atrial peptide, etc.
