Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition containing, as active ingredient, a specific perfluoropolyether, effective for preventing and treating local viral infections diseases, esp. herpes simplex I and II and herpes zoster, and also capable of preventing relapse of these diseases. SOLUTION: This medicinal composition contains a perfluoropolyether bearing inert terminal group(s) [pref. of the formula, CF3 (OCF(CF3 )CF2 )n (OCF2 )m OCF3 (n/m ratio is about 20-40)]. The amount of the compound to be used is pref. 0.1-200mL. The compound is pref. >=500 (more pref. 3000-8000) in number-average molecular weight. For example, this composition is in the form of emulsion comprising 30.00wt.% of the compound, 69.00wt.% of glycerol and 1.00wt.% of sodium lauryl ether sulfate.
