Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an orally administrable medicine administration unit containing specific amounts of 17β-estradiol and desogestrel as active ingredients, respectively, useful for treating and preventing menopausal disorders, etc., especially osteoporosis, and not produce side effects. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal administration unit contains 0.5-2.5mg of 17β- estradiol and 100-300μg of desogestrel. The composition enables to maintain the contents of high density lipids and triglycerides in approximately ordinary states and does not produce undesirable side effects such as metrorrhagia. A prescribed amount of the estradiol in the preparation inhibits the loss of bones and suppresses monopausal disorders. The administration of the desogestrel in a prescribed amount for a prescribed period inhibits side effects produced by the administration of the estradiol, and further suppresses the undesirable side effects.
