Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an occurence of a coiling failure of continuous paper to be predicted.SOLUTION: A medium coiling apparatus includes: a coiling shaft; a driving unit for transmitting rotation to the coiling shaft to coil a medium on a coiling member; a rotating member rotatably arranged; a tension applying member movably disposed to be moved in accordance with driving or stopping of the driving unit; a position detecting unit for detecting a position of the tension applying member; a speed detection unit; and a control unit 71 for determining whether slippage occurs between the coiling shaft and the coiling member on the basis of the position of the tension applying member and the rotation speed of the coiling shaft. The driving unit includes a torque limiter. When there is a possibility of slippage between the coiling shaft and the coiling member, the occurrence of the coiling failure can be predicted in the medium coiling apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
