Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium conveyance device which can correctly detect the conveyance length of a medium.SOLUTION: A printer includes: rollers 20-22 which convey a card Ca; a rotation unit F which is provided on an inclined medium conveyance path P0 and sandwiches the card Ca to rotate it; a sensor SN3 which is arranged on a horizontal medium conveyance path P1 for conveying the card Ca in the conveyance direction different from the inclined medium conveyance path P0; and a control unit. The control unit, after controlling the rollers 20-22 and the rotation unit F so as to carry the card Ca into the rotation unit F and change the conveyance direction toward the horizontal medium conveyance path P1, controls a first card conveyance motor which drives the rollers 20-21 so as to convey the card Ca toward the sensor SN3 to detect the card conveyance length from the conveyance start to the tip detection of the card Ca by the sensor SN3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
