Abstract:
To eliminate a concern that if there is a step in the height direction between a medium stacking section and a pair of medium support sections, the step may form deflection in a medium and when the medium formed with such a deflection is discharged from the medium stacking section to the medium support section, the medium rear end tends to move to return to the upstream side in the discharge direction due to an action of trying to eliminate the deflection, and thus the medium does not appropriately fall to the stacking section.SOLUTION: A medium discharge device includes: an intermediate tray on which a medium aligned by the alignment section is placed; a pair of medium support sections configured to support a front end of the medium placed on the intermediate tray, and configured to be openable and closable; a discharge section for discharging a medium from the intermediate tray to the medium support section; and a curve imparting section that imparts a curve that warps along a width direction to the medium by coming into contact with the medium discharged by the discharge unit. A step is formed between the intermediate tray and the pair of medium support sections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
