Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium loader and a recording device capable of improving workability for providing a state in which rotational force of a rotation drive unit can be transmitted to a roll medium loaded in a loading unit.SOLUTION: A medium loader comprises: a support unit 30 that includes a shaft member 31 and a flange member 32 attached to each of both end portions of roll paper RP; and a loading unit 15 to which the roll paper RP attached to the support unit 30 is loaded. The loading unit 15 includes a rotation drive unit 59 serving as a drive source for rotating the roll paper RP; a rotary shaft that can transmit rotational force of the rotation drive unit 59 to the roll paper RP via the shaft member 31; and an operation unit 57 moving the rotary shaft between a transmission position at which the rotary shaft transmits the rotational force to the roll paper RP and a non-transmission position at which the rotary shaft does not transmit the rotational force to the roll paper RP. The operation unit 57 is disposed between the shaft member 31 and the rotation derive unit 59 in an axial direction of the roll paper RP loaded to the loading unit 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
