Abstract:
To provide a medium processing device capable of more accurately detecting the vacancy of a storage space provided in a cassette and more widely applicable.SOLUTION: The medium processing device comprises: a medium storage cassette that includes a medium storage space for storing a medium and a partition plate provided to divide the medium storage space into a lower storage part and an upper storage part and to be vertically movable in a prescribed movable region in the medium storage space; a conveyance unit that conveys the medium to the medium storage cassette; a partition plate position detection sensor that detects a vertical position of the partition plate; and a control unit that controls the partition plate, the partition plate position detection sensor, and the conveyance unit. The control unit issues an instruction for moving the partition plate to the lowermost end of the movable region, and then determines whether or not the lower storage part has a vacant space for storing the medium on the basis of the vertical position of the partition plate after the movement detected by the partition plate position detection sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
