Abstract:
To provide a medium reading apparatus capable of detecting a skew of a medium caused in a medium reading, a control method, and a control program.SOLUTION: A medium reading apparatus includes: a transportation part that transports a medium; an imaging part that reads the medium transported from the transportation part in a width direction orthogonal to a transportation direction, and outputs an imaging signal read; an end part position detection part that outputs position information of at least one end part in the width direction of the medium transported from the transportation part on the basis of the imaging signal; a skew detection part that detects a skew amount of the medium in the width direction on the basis of the change of the position information; and a control part that controls the transportation part so that the medium is transported at a first transportation speed when the skew amount is less than a first threshold value, and the medium is transported at a second transportation speed slower than the first transportation speed when the skew amount is transported when the skew amount is equal to or more than the first threshold or a second threshold value larger than the first threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
