Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium supply device improved in a recovery working efficiency at the occurrence time of a transportation error.SOLUTION: A medium supply device 1 comprises opening means (a lock shaft 11, a lock arm 9, a hopper 2, a link member 12 and a rotary member 13) for performing an opening action, at the occurring time of a transportation error of a medium P, in the direction to separate rollers for pressure-contact with each other on the transportation passage of the medium. In accordance with the quantity of advance into the transportation passage of the medium, an error releasing operation control unit 23 of a control device 20 switches either an opening performance (at Step S109) to an open extent in which a transportation roller 81 and a follower roller 82 are separated or another opening performance (at Step S110) to another open extent in which a separate roller 71 and a brake roller 72 are separated, thereby to control the aforementioned opening means.
