Abstract:
To provide a medium support mechanism capable of improving operability, and a printer.SOLUTION: A medium support part includes a support surface for supporting a medium conveyed in a conveyance direction, and a guide groove extending along a width direction in the support surface. The guide groove has a first surface and a second surface, and the first surface and the second surface constitute an inner wall of the guide groove extending in the width direction, and face each other in the conveyance direction. The medium support part has a holding part for holding an end part of the medium in the width direction, and a contact part. The contact part can move between a contact position where the contact part comes in contact with the first surface and the second surface in a state of pressing the first surface and the second surface, and a separation position where the contact part comes in contact with the second surface and is separated from the first surface. An operation part can move in a direction from one side toward the other side of the first surface and the second surface with respect to the holding part. The contact part moves from the contact position to the separation position in conjunction with the movement of the operation part in the direction from the first surface toward the second surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
