To solve the problem in an image recording apparatus for handling a long medium larger than an ordinarily used medium, wherein a medium tray supporting the medium becomes longer to increase the installation area for the apparatus.
This medium tray is composed of a medium receiving part connected to a medium suction part of the image recording apparatus to place the medium for image recording and a medium support part supporting the medium with the angle of the rear part of the medium placed on the medium receiving part varied. In that case, a recording medium larger than the medium receiving part is supported with the rear part of the medium receiving part turned, so that the long medium can be placed without any increase in length of a projecting area of the medium tray.
