Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a novel melanin formation inhibitor which contains a specific compound as an active ingredient, shows excellent skin color-lightening effect and preventive and therapeutic effect for spots or ephelis caused by sun burning with high safety.
CONSTITUTION: This inhibitor contains nordihydroguaiaretic acid, namely 4,4'-(2,3-dimethyl-1,4-butanediyl)bis(1,2-benzenediol) as an active ingredient. This inhibitor is useful as a skin preparation for external use. The amount of nordihydroguaiaretic acid is preferably 0.1-10wt.% based on the total weight of the skin preparation. This inhibitor is prepared in the form of ointment, cream, emulsion, pack or lotion.
