Abstract:
To provide a melting facility capable of pre-heating a metal raw material at high efficiency even using a horizontal pre-heating tunnel easy in installation by modifying an existing melting furnace.SOLUTION: A melting facility 10 for melting a metal raw material by an arc formed by energization to an arc electrode comprises: a furnace body 11; a main pre-heating chamber 12 provided with a charge port 16 for charging a metal raw material into the furnace body and pre-heating the metal raw material by an exhaust gas introduced from the furnace body through the charge port; a pusher 13 having an extrusion member driving device 27, for extruding the metal raw material from the main pre-heating chamber to the inside of the furnace body by an extrusion member; and a pre-heating tunnel 14 provided with a transfer device 32 connected to the main pre-heating chamber and transferring the metal raw material in a horizontal direction at a position higher than the lower edge of the charge port of the main pre-heating chamber, for feeding the metal raw material to the main pre-heating chamber by the transfer device while pre-heating the metal raw material by the exhaust gas introduced from the furnace body through the main pre-heating chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
