Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform discharge of molten slag in a horizontal state and to simplify the structure of a whole by a method wherein a furnace body having a furnace hole part, gradually spreading toward a slug supply port, and a fireproof material lining and rotatable around a horizontal axis is provided and during supply of slag, the internal part of the furnace hole of the furnace body is pressurized to a specified pressure.
SOLUTION: In operation of a melt furnace, a material is first charged through an opening part 10a along a horizontal direction. Secondly, after the opening part 10a is covered with a cover member, a material in a furnace hole part 10 is molten by an oxygen burner attached in the opening part 10b. In this case, a furnace body 1 is rotated around an axis (a horizontal axis L) and air for cooling is fed in a gap 7 between inner and outer cylinders 3 and 4 by an air fed means 9, a fireproof material lining 6 is forcibly cooled to prevent erosion of the fireproof material lining 6. After completion of melting, molten slag is supplied through a slag supply passage 11 and during supply of slag, high pressure air is fed to the furnace hole art 10 by a pressure means 2 and the internal part of the forenoon's hole part 10 is pressurized to 1000-1500mmAq.
