PURPOSE: To provide an effective prevention of the dust dispersion by a method wherein a height of combustion waste gas flowing up passage arranged over a hot furnace hearth is made to be two times or more than a sectional diameter of the passage.
CONSTITUTION: Height of the combustion waste gas flowing up passage 17 raised at substantial vertical orientation just above the hot furnace hearth 13 is set two times than the sectional diameter of the passage. The waste gas flow is rectified by setting the waste gas flowing up passage so as to improve a characteristic of dust separation caused by the natural dropping of the dust associated with the waste gas, so that the dust dispersion may sufficiently be prevented. However, a setting of excessive high height of the passage may cause a disadvantage in view of its facility or strength, so 5W20 times of the sectional diameter of the passage is a suitable value for the height of passage.
