Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melting production of a long ingot by which a sound long ingot is stably produced by using a CCIM (Cold Crucible Induction Melting) method.SOLUTION: The method for melting production of a long ingot inclydes: a first step in which a shaft-like core metal ingot 1 is prepared by pouring molten metal 4 into a casting mold 9 for core metal; a second step in which a bar-like raw material 2 is prepared by pouring the molten metal 4 around the core metal ingot 1 erected in the bar-like raw material casting mold 10 dividedly in multiple times; and a third step in which the bar-like raw material 2 is charged into a water-cooled copper made crucible 5 whose bottom 6 is formed freely movably in a vertical direction, melting the bar-like raw material 2 by induction heating, and drawing it downward, thereby producing a long ingot 3 whose length in the drawing direction is 1.5 times or more as long as the diameter.
