Title:
MEMBER FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OR ANTIFOULING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3491081
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a member for electrochemical biological control or antifouling which prevents deterioration as far as possible and has high durability by forming the wetting surfaces of the members of ships, fishing nets, cooling pipings, water distribution pipes, etc., of valve metals.
SOLUTION: The base material 1 of an underwater structure is formed of the valve metal or if the base material 1 is formed of materials exclusive of the valve metal, the valve metal 2 is formed on the wetting surface of the base material 1. The examples of the base material 1 include metallic materials, such as iron, Al, copper and their alloys, etc., various kinds of resin materials, inorg. materials, etc. If electrochemically dissolving or corroding materials, for example, metallic materials, such as iron, are used as the base material 1, a pretreated layer 3 like an insulative coating film or resin film layer or an insulating inorg. matter layer, etc., of alumina, etc., is formed between the base material 1 and the valve metal 2. The valve metal is Ti, Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf and their alloys, etc., and is formed by laminating the foil of the valve metal via an adhesive on the surface of the base material 1 or by a vacuum vapor deposition method.
