To provide a member for soil-banking, obtained without using hexabromocyclododecane, capable of being produced by allowing a flame retardant having good handleability to be homogeneously impregnated in resin particles during the production process, hardly causing coarseness and minuteness of cells when foamed, and having excellent flame retardancy because of excellent heat fusion of particles to each other in molding.
The member for the soil-banking is a polystyrene-based foam-molded product obtained by previously foaming expandable polystyrene-based resin particles produced as follow: filling a mold with the previously foamed particles, and foaming the particles, and having 40-120 μm of an average chord length. The expandable polystyrene-based resin particles are produced by dispersing polystyrene-based resin particles having 5-15% of a variation coefficient (CV value) of diameters of the polystyrene-based resin particles in an aqueous suspension, and feeding a flame retardant solution obtained by dissolving 33-1,000 pts.wt. of a powdery flame retardant of tetrabromocyclooctane in 100 pts.wt. of a plasticizer into the aqueous suspension before or during impregnation with the foaming agent to impregnate the flame retardant into the polystyrene-based resin particles.
