The driving method is characterized by applying a scanning side voltage waveform TP composed of a single polarity of zero and a positive voltage or zero and a negative voltage to a scanning electrode, further, applying a signal side voltage waveform SG composed of a single polarity of zero and a voltage identical to the polarity of the scanning side voltage waveform to a signal electrode, applying a first reset pulse to the scanning electrode in a first period (R1) of a reset period RS, and applying a second reset pulse to the signal electrode in a second period (R2) of the reset period RS, wherein pulse widths and pulse voltage values of the first reset pulse and the second reset pulse are identical to each other.
