A merchandise display plate 26 is provided on a pedestal 4 and a glass case 8 surrounding the merchandise display plate 26 and being open at its top and bottom is vertically movably disposed. Cold air is created by a refrigerator 10 built into the pedestal 4 and is blown into the glass case 8 to cool the merchandise in the glass case 8. When cooling of the merchandise is not needed, the glass case 8 is lowered and the merchandise display plate 26 is opened at its front and right and left sides.
