Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new metal-carrying fine-particles catalyst by a method wherein a specific metal cpd, in substantially carried by a fine solid powder consisting of inorganic substance having a specific particle size.

CONSTITUTION: As a catalyst carrier, white carbon 200mμ or less in size or silica may be used. The catalytic metal of a metal cpd. includes one or more selected from Cu, Zn, Y, La, Ce, Ti, Sn, V, Nf, Cr, Mo, W, Fe, Ni, Co, and Pd. The amount of catalytic metal is a total of 0.1W50wt% as oxides per carrier as anhydrous products. A solvent other than water having b.p. of 600°C or less may be preferably used. Such solvents include absolute alcohols and ethers. This catalyst can be used for hydrogen treating of heavy hydrocarbons and hydrogenation of olefins.
