Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make necessary press-in and shrink fitting force securable, by combining a metal member of an age-hardening type alloy and a ceramics member together so as to secure the specified effective strain, in case of a metal-ceramics combined body for engine parts, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A ceramics cylinder 1 of sintered body silicon nitrite is pressed in a metal member 2 of an age hardening alloy, consisting of 18Ni marageing steel, having a concave part 2a and then ageing effect treatment is carried out. At this time, effective interference comes to almost constant at more than the press-in interference. That is to say, it is merely enough if the condition expressed in an equation I (A shows an effective strain, Ta: ageing temperature, Tr room temperature, a: a difference in a thermal expansion coefficient be tween metal and ceramics and d : shrinkage percentage due to ageing in the metal member respectively) is satisfied, and since necessary pressin interference is found by age-hardening temperature, necessary press-in and shrink fitting force is securable even if there is no strict dimensional control.
