Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a metal capturing agent quick in sedimentation velocity of flock and capable of readily and surely carrying out waste water treatment without jointly using a polymer flocculant by reacting an aminomethyl group- containing polyamine with carbon disulfide.
CONSTITUTION: A polyamine having an aminomethyl group is made to react with carbon disulfide to provide the metal capturing agent having a structure of the formula [R is CSSM (M is H, alkali metal, etc.); R' is H or CSSM; n is integer]. In this metal capturing agent, a dithio acid group or its salt substituted with H atom bound to a nitrogen atom of a polyamine having an aminomethyl group is introduced. Concretely, the aminomethyl group-containing polyamine is dissolved in water, alcohol, etc., and then carbon disulfide is added thereto and the above-methioned reaction is carried out at 10-100°C for 1-20hr. Furthermore, the aminomethyl group-containing polyamine is obtained by dissolving, e.g. polyacrylonitrile in a solvent and then hydrogenating the polyacrylonitrile in the presence of a Raney nickel catalyst under high pressure to reduce the compound.
