PURPOSE: To provide a metal gasket having high sealing ability by which fastening force of a bolt can be distributed uniformly to the whole sealing lines.
CONSTITUTION: In a metal gasket interposed between a cylinder block 9 and a cylinder head constituted so as to seal a combustion chamber hole, bolt holes, a water hole and an oil hole after sealing lines are formed respectively around a combustion chamber hole part, around a bolt hole part 3 and on the outer peripheral edge 4 of a gasket by means of embossing finish and/or folding processing, a pressure relief part 8a which avoids concentration of fastening force of a bolt and disperses the force, is formed in a peripheral part of a bolt hole part 3 (B2) except bolt hole parts arranged at least in four corner parts.
