Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal mold with which a longer life and a lower cost are attained with higher accuracy.
SOLUTION: (1) The nitridation hardened layer of the metal mold formed with the nitridation hardened layer on the surface by nitriding treatment is removed at the time of reworking of the metal mold after the mold is used. (2) The metal mold is removed after the metal mold is used and engraving down and diesinking are executed and the metal mold is subjected again to the nitriding treatment in the method for working the metal mold forming the nitridation hardened layer on the surface by the nitriding treatment after diesinking. The nitridation hardened layer formed on the metal mold surface is preferably removed by immersing the metal mold surface into an aq. soln. of ferric chloride in the working method described above.
