Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal molding method by which hemming for folding a metal plate and so on can be performed while suppressing cracking and so on.SOLUTION: A metal molding method comprising a folding process in which a metal plate is folded at a thin wall part which is provided on one surface side of the metal plate and of which a plate thickness is partially reduced, thereby forming a folded part. The thin wall part is present on an inner side which is folded, and has a groove-like form comprising a smooth curve surface. The metal molding method is suitable in the case that the metal plate comprises a magnesium alloy. If a folding ratio (H/t) which is a ratio of a maximum height (H) of the folded part to a minimum plate thickness (t) of the thin wall part, and a plate thickness ratio (t/t) which is a ratio of the minimum plate thickness (t) of the thin wall part to an initial plate thickness (t) and so on fall within a prescribed range, processing can be performed at a lower temperature without suppressing cracking and so on.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
